The pool is private to the cabin, it is under a roof, and it is heated all year. That combination is rarer in the Smokies than you would think, and it changes what your trip can be.
It means a wet October afternoon does not wreck the day. It means the children can swim in February. It means you can come back from Cades Cove at four o’clock, sunburnt and tired, and get straight in. And because it is open around the clock, the teenagers can swim at eleven at night without disturbing anybody.
Why that matters in Sevierville
Smoky Mountain weather does what it likes. Summer afternoons bring thunderstorms. Spring can give you three seasons before lunch. Winter can be beautiful and bitter in the same hour. An outdoor pool is a gamble here. An indoor heated one is not.
We have had guests book in January purely because they could swim, and guests in July who barely left the water. Both work.
And then there is the hot tub
Out on the deck, with the mountains in front of you. The pool is for the kids. The hot tub, generally speaking, is for after they have gone to bed. Both are cleaned and checked between every stay — cleanliness is something we take personally, not something we outsource and hope for the best on.
The rest of the house keeps up

It is a house built for a group that wants to stay in as much as go out. That is deliberate.
